International Development Perspective, Human Rights and Community Development
22 February 2017 at UN Conference Centre Bangkok.
The rule of law is one of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. It also plays a role as an enabling factor to achieve the other goals of this development agenda. Participation from actors across society is needed to enhance the rule of law in support of the development goals. As a vehicle for a network of change makers across sectors, the TIJ Public Forum on the Rule of Law and Sustainable Development brings about exchange of views and mutual learning among leading representatives from all SDGs-relevant policy-making agencies and academic institutes in Thailand, as well as the executives from the public and private sectors who are participating in the first TIJ Executive Program on the Rule of Law and Development (RoLD). The forum encourages open discussion on cross-cutting issues such as international development, community development and human rights with participation from distinguished experts, while examining the underlying linkage between sustainable development and the rule of law.
